Lou was born in France to an English father and French mother. He was fascinated by piano music from an early age despite the fact he was born to a family of non-musicians. He started his piano studies at the age of 4 and began tuition with Lora Dimitrova in January 2009. Lou attained his Grade 8 Piano ABRSM Certificate with Distinction aged 10.

Lou has performed at a variety of events and festivals and has won prizes at the Beckenham Music Festival, the Blackheath Music Festival and the Kent International Piano Course. He was selected as a finalist in the Star Music Competition 2010 as part of the Bromley Festival of Music and Speech. His recent achievements include winner of the Concerto Prize at the Kent International Piano Course, finalist in the Pro Corda Chamber Music Competition at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and selection to perform on stage with Lang Lang in May 2011 at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Lang Lang Inspires Project.

Lou regularly takes part in concerts at the Bromley Youth Music Trust and at school. He has attended Masterclasses with Joanna MacGregor, Cristina Ortiz, Noriko Ogawa and Philippe Cassard.

Last summer, Lou attended the Chethams International Summer School and Festivals for Pianists and will be participating again this August, as well as competing in the 3rd Manchester International Concerto Competition for Young Pianists.

Lou has also played the oboe since the age of 8 and attained Grade 7 in May 2011. He attends Sevenoaks School as a Major Music Scholar.
