About us

Volunteer with us

We're never shot of things to do when preparing concerts and projects! Do you have skills in the music business or maybe another line of work that you could bring to our small team? We would love to hear from you! It could be something as small as helping to distribute marketing (posters etc) or working with engaging with our players on the run up to concerts. Where we are not rehearsing regularily a lot of the work is restricted to the months before a concert. No requirement to come to meetings or join a committee either!!

Our Mission

Our aim is to have fun through honest music making and raising money for people who need it.

It is a humbling experience to work with so many talented and enthusiastic musicians who give their time and skills freely in order to help raise money for worthy causes.

History

Originally conceived by Southampton University music student Tom Horn, the orchestra's first concert in London during 2006 was a great success and since then the orchestra has gone from strength to strength.

From 2006 - 2007 the orchestra's concerts were not at any set time in the year. In 2008 the orchestra began a revamp to change it's image and set firmer times for concerts. At the end of 2008 the orchestra began it's first full season of concerts running from November to August.
